TV5MONDE  COLABORA CON LA ALLIANZA FRANCESA DE ESPAÑA Y LA FUNDACION PILAR CITOLER EN EL CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE  FOTOGRAFIA BAJO EL LEMA “ TOLERANCIA”

 

TV5MONDE, la televisión internacional en francés,  en su política de activa presencia en las manifestaciones  culturales, colabora en la segunda edición del concurso de Fotografía semiprofesional creado por las Alianzas Francesas de España y la Fundación Pilar Citoler.

TV5MONDE, quiere así rendir homenaje a los  artistas fotográficos y a  las grandes  causas humanas como la TOLERANCIA ( tema central del concurso) y colaborar  estrechamente, con la Alianza Francesa de España en su labor por  la excelencia fotográfica y la tolerancia.

El lanzamiento del concurso  ha dado comienzo el 1ro de abril y se extenderá hasta el 14 de mayo de 2011. Un jurado excepcional se reunirá  del 16 al 20 de mayo para elegir las 20 mejores fotografías.

El jurado  compuesto por Pilar Citoler, Juan Luna, el Premio Nacional de Fotografía, el francés Pierre Gonnord,  la fotógrafa Rosa Muñoz, Giuco Gutierrez, los curadores y críticos de arte Paco Carpio y Jesús Mico acompañados por la inestimable presencia de la galerista Juana Aizpuru. El Consejo técnico contará con la presencia de la Sra. Annie Delaye  (esposa del embajador de Francia en España) y de la Delegada General de las Alianzas Francesas de España, Elisabeth Ranedo. Por parte de la Embajada de Francia,  el agregado cultural, Jean Luc Blouet  completan este prestigioso jurado.

Los premios  estarán dotados de  4.500 Euros, dos viajes a Francia y una exposición de las 20 mejores obras seleccionadas en la programación de PHOTO ESPAÑA 2011 y que serán expuestas en la galería de la Alianza Francesa de Madrid.

THE WPGA EDITORIAL AWARD
Winning images will be published in Intransit Magazine and exhibited in Matera, Italy in October 2011

The Worldwide Photography Gala Awards invites professional and non-professional photographers worldwide to submit their work to the 1st Edition of The WPGA Editorial Award

Challenging personal, emotional or political statements are welcome. Works published or already awarded by other organizations will be accepted in this Award.

The theme is open, but the images should address current affairs, cultural and daily life, environmental issues, natural disasters and the aftermath, wars and related conflicts, celebrities’ portraits, sports, etc.

The photographer should have full ownership of the copyright, and will retain image copyright.

Submissions are accepted only online.

Deadline: May 31st at 11:59pm PST

GMB Akash, photojournalist, Bangladesh.

He has received more than 40 international awards from all around the world and his work has been featured in over 50 major international publications including: National Geographic, Vogue, Time, Sunday Times, Newsweek, Geo, Stern,Der Spiegel, The Fader,Brand Ein, The Guardian, Marie Claire, Colors, The Economist, The New Internationalist, Kontinente, Amnesty Journal, Courier International, PDN, Die Zeit, Days Japan, Hello, and Sunday Telegraph of London. In 2002 he was for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in the Netherlands. In 2004 he received the Young Reporters Award from the Scope Photo Festival in Paris. In 2006 he was awarded World Press Photo award and released his first book “First Light”. In 2007 Akash was selected for the 30 Emerging Photographers (PDN 30) by Photo District News Magazine, USA. He won the 7th Vevey international photography grant from Switzerland in 2009. In 2009, Akash wins the international ‘Travel photographer of the year ‘title from the international travel photographer of the year competition ( TPOY 2009 ), the most prestigious award in travel photography. He was one of the speakers in the fifth Global Investigative Journalism Conference held at Lillehammer, Norway in 2008 and in TEDxOporto 2011 in Portugal. In 2010 he won The Invisible World Award, juried by Chris Steele-Perkins (Magnum Photos).

Gaetano Plasmati, photojournalist, curator and publisher, Italy
Gaetano is curator of the Porta Pepice Gallery in Matera, Italy, and publisher and editor of Intransit Magazine. He has done photography reportages in almost all corners of the world: Greek, Turkey, Albania, Thailand, Birmany, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Morocco, Tunis, Alger, Libya, Niger, Kenya, Madagascar, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Peru, India,Cuba, Maldives, Mali, Namibia, and Jordan. Traditions, popular celebrations and cultural manifestation became his documentation goals. Gaetano is also a theatre, jazz music and classic and advertising photographer.

Prizes: Best of Show: US$2,000

Exhibition and Publishing:
The winning image and images awarded with Honorable Mention will selected by the jurors to be featured in Intransit Gallery, and exhibited in the Gallery Porta Pepice in Matera Italy in October 2011. Photographer will receive 50% commission of the gallery sales.

Entry Fees:
First 3 single images: $45; each additional image: $10

Copyright
: WPGA recognizes that the authors retain full ownership of the image copyright.

All images are submitted online as digital files. Photographers with analog images are encouraged to participate by scanning their images into a digital file that meets the submission requirements.

There are no date restrictions as to when the photograph was created, or if the image has been previously awarded in other contest by other organizations.

The 50 finalist artists will be chosen by a jury and selection comittee of international art critics and curators led by Eugene Tan. Each selector will make his or her personal choices known in public, onsite. Names of selectors will be published no later than end of February.
